Maxfactor Ruby Tuesday Lipstick

I have never bought anything from Maxfactor before because it has always been a bit too pricey for me, however the other day I went into boots and they were doing good offers on all of there Maxfactor selection. I decided to go ahead and buy this gorgeous lipstick as I don't have a bright red lipstick and that's a definite must have when the weather gets colder. It is a very safe brand to get your first red lipstick from as they have a good reputation and a lot of people shop there and come back feeling pleased with there purchase.

Overall I thought this was a very good lipstick even though there was some mixed reviews online.... :/
It feels lovely and moisturizing on your mouth, It feels like a baby's bottom! The smell is gorgeous, also it is very easy to add more lipstick on if you feel like you don't have enough or take some off if you think you've over done it. I also absolutely love the packaging, very stylish and posh.

Surprisingly this lipstick is only £7.99 which I personally thought would have been a lot more expensive, probably because of the gold case.
If you don't like just applying lipstick on it's own then you can also easily apply a lip liner or lip gloss over the top to give you an even more wowzer affect!

The only bad point for this lipstick is that it easily comes off, after you eat or drink you will need to go into the toilets and do a little bit of touching up.

Texture: 10/10
Application: 10/10
Wear: 7/10
Pigmentation: 9/10
Packaging: 10/10

Overall: 9/10

See you soon! x

Back To School Tips and Advice

Hey guys, finally it's the weekend and now I can relax and not worry about little things. We went back on Tuesday so this is the first week back. It's been a bit of a shock in how much h/w we get in Year 9, it's definitely gone up a lot from last year. On Wednesday we have six preps!
Today I'm going to do a blog post on school as that's the only thing that's happening at the moment and I'm going to give you a few tips on how to work hard at school, have a healthy day and of course friendship! So sit back on the couch with a nice cup of tea and get comfy cus you're in for a treat!

This is my year, we're usually in school uniform but because we're on an outing we're not.
Can u spot where I am?

1. How to keep organised.
I've always struggled with this one, organisation has always been one of my weaknesses. I remember when I was younger I used to lose things all the time and if it was lost it was almost certainly ruined ( paper crumpled or torn)
The first thing you need to purchase is a folder it could be any old folder from one that is simply plastic to great old folder with loads of binders and everything. I recommend when you're at the senior school one of these it makes finding things a whole lot easier.

Something else to get is a diary or mini calender. You can keep this in you're bag at all times and it helps when you're friends asks if you're free or not! In your diary you could get a paper clip. if your're feeling creative you can get it in all sort of shapes and sizes. As well as a calender you could have a notebook, it keeps all notes in one place so it's harder to lose though the only bad thing is if you do lose it, you lose
everything! To keep your locker organized you can get locker shelves, it makes it a lot easier when it comes to get books during the day. The last thing I recommend you doing is writing out a timetable of all your subjects and when you have them. So in the morning you can wake up knowing what lies ahead. Whether you put it on the fridge on your pin board it's up to you!

2. How to stay awake for the whole day?!
This is a hard one, I'm someone who needs quite a lot of sleep and simply having 9 hours every night is just not enough. Firstly make sure you get to bed no later then 9 and then read for 1/2 an hour. If your not a reader then you could watch a film, make sure whatever you do it will calm and relax you. During the day, take snacks to re boost you're energy so you're not feeling as tired. You could even have water, this will keep you hydrated and this makes it easier to think. When you wake up have a shower, this makes you feel wide awake. Even if you go in it half asleep I promise you will come out full of beans!

3. Ideas on a healthy but filling breakfast please?!
My favorite breakfast in the world is cereal, but that's cus I'm addicted to it. Having a nice big bowl of muesli keeps you full until break at least. Bran flakes and sultanas is also very yummy so is shreddies. Anything that is quite heavy. Toast and marmalade is also a must have. Why don't you try peanut butter on crumpets and then sprinkle on top sultanas, it is delicious. How about having Greek style yogurt with fresh fruit this is a must have for the summer.

4. How to keep control under homework?
When you get into year 9 homework becomes your life, you get 5 subjects every night which often last hours. This stops you doing any fun activities, not necessarily. I've recently been struggling with my homework and I realized I was doing it all wrong, I did it on the night it was given. I never did it at school so for example at break or lunch and I never did it before school so in the morning. i now do one subject before I got to school. If I do this every day it gets a whole days worth of Prep out of the way. I also do it twice a week during school. It makes my evenings not as stressful.

5. How to deal with bullies?
Firstly whatever they say to you, whether it's saying names behind your back or if they are making everyone else hate you, you MUST not take it to heart. This is harder said then done, but bullies are there to make you suffer and make you upset. If you don't show them any sign of this, they will just leave you alone and feel like they are wasting there time. Bullies are people who dislike themselves, they don't like who they are so they take it out on other people showing them how they feel about themselves. So remember if they are acting like this they probably have a real problem at home and so you just need to reassure them
If the bullying is getting out of control and it's making you very upset then you need tell someone, for example your parents would be the best approach to start off with cus they are the people who love you most.

My new bedroom (WARNING you may want to read it in chunks!)

Hey guys! Hope you're all having a lovely Summer, the weather here is amazing, some times you even forget you're in England! Haha!! Sadly the Summer is reaching to a close. No more lie ins, no more late nights curled up on the sofa watching movies, no more day trips to the beach. I'm really going to miss it. At least  the only good thing about the holidays ending is it's getting closer to Christmas!
Today I'm going to talk about my bran new glimmer shimmer shim bedroom. If you have read my last blog post then you will all know during the holidays as well as all those trips out, I have been in the process of re doing my bedroom. It has been great fun watching  my bedroom getting prettier and prettier. I remember when the decorator was here, at the end of the day we would all rush in to the bedroom to see what he had done. The smiles on our faces were so big, it was like someone had told us we had won the lottery, it just wasn't real!
I have always dreamed about getting my bedroom re-done. It was always my wish, I  knew though I would never get it done, but here I am writing a blog post about it. WOW! I remember the first video I watched on Youtube was a room tour. I remember it was juicystar's07 video, I thought her room was amazing. I remember thinking she was so organized and clean, oh and how she has so many clothes! Anyway if you would like to watch it here's the link to the first EVER video I've watched: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OWXh21WJ0ko. Thanx to her here I am, now writing a blog and thinking about getting a Youtube channel in the future!

This is my bedroom! So the walls are painted all white apart from the wall in which my bed is leaning on. This is painted sky blue. You can probably tell but I have a theme going on in my bedroom! The two colors you will see a lot is light blue and white. I thought these two colors go really well together. It makes the room feel fresh, peaceful and it makes you feel really calm when you're curled up in you're bed.
The bed is from the well known company Dreams and it's called Pippa. It has no drawers under the bed but you can easily fit in storage boxes. I feel like my bed is a good size, it's strong and it feels like it's good quality. The bed frame is very pretty. My mattress and pillows are  from Dreams as well.  As for my duvet cover itself, that's from Ikea. I absolutely love it. I love the way it has small lace flowers down the middle of the cover and on one side of the pillows. It adds a real plus.

The throw is from, Bronte. I love the ways it's covered in spots! It's really expensive but very good quality and it will keep me warm during the winter, lets hope!

I feel like pillows make the bed look a whole lot more interesting! So I got a gorgeous fluffy white pillow from Homebase and then the other two I got as a present so I don't know where I got it from. It's important to choose pillows wisely, it's easy to ruin your bedroom by e'g the wrong color. It may seem an easy task but in fact it's not!

This is my bedside table and it's from Ikea. It has a lot of storage in it. In the first draw I keep all my books I'm currently reading and any magazines I have out and about! Also this is where I keep my diary I used to write in ( I gave up on writing a diary ages ago!)

In the 2nd draw I keep all my pj's just so it's easier to grab at night. Also on the side of my bedside table I keep all my library books I'm currently borrowing so I don't miss place it or if i get confused whether it's mine or not. On the top of my bedside table I keep my tissue box, which I always find in great use, my jewellery box so I can put my earrings in it when I go to sleep and also this random globe ornament, not to sure why it's there.... :/

On my other bed side table ( this side is the side I sleep on) I store: all my gadgets in the first drawer such as DVD's, Nintendo games, my camera, chargers etc. On top of the table I keep my digital watch, my phone, a glass of water as I always get thirsty in the night. I also keep a little teddy hehe! Both my lamps are from Homebase, i really like them and I feel they go really well in my room.

In the 2nd drawer I keep all my medicines and plasters, cream and that sort of jazz. It's known as the first aid drawer! Under my bed I keep a few boxes, I store stationery stuff in them mainly but also I keep letters I have read and I want to keep for some reason or other!

This is my desk. The desk itself is from Ikea.  It's more of a vanity than a desk but I use it a bit of both. What I like about this desk is that it has a glass cover which protects it and makes it easier to wipe. On my desk I have a lamp so when I do my make up it makes it easier to see. Then as you can see I have a large collection of nail varnishes, maybe even to many! I organize them in color this makes it easier to pick one.  I also have these two pots, their actually meant for plants but hey ho nobody says you can't put pens in them! So I got these from Homebase, I've started by putting some pink stones in them and then I shoved in all my pens, pencil etc... In my other pot I keep my Make up brushes. As you can see this is a work in progress. I don't have many at the moment but I will have a lot in the future! Next to the pots I keep my candles, these change regularly. Attached to my desk I have this paper rack. In here I get to organize
my paper so it makes it easier to grab for on the go. I got this from Ikea as well.

Under my desk i keep mainly folders and text books but on the right I keep some of my school supplies such as a calculator, ink cartridges....

Above my desk I have this shelving unit from Ikea. It also has sliding doors which makes it really original. This is what I keep in it:

This is my light. It's one of my favorite features in my bedroom, I absolutely love it. I love the way you get flowers on the walls and floor. It's made out of paper which is also very original. I got this from Ikea, you can get it in a bigger size as well but I thought if I had it any larger you wouldn't be able to get on the bed!!

These are my curtains. I have a blind and on top of that I also hav a velvetti curtain. I love the colour of it especially when the sun shines on it.

This is the lovely blind. i got both the blind and the curtains from the good old Ikea.

The curtains shut.

Ok so that's my bedroom. So yes it is very simple but I like it that way, I don't want to over crowd it. I wouldn't say it's finished yet but that's part of the fun, I will always have something to do in my bedroom!
If you would like to see a Closet Tour or even so more tips on how to organize your clothes, make up etc just let me know.
Sorry it was such a long blog post they're not normally like that but because it was such an Important thing that happened over the Summer I didn't want to rush it

Life Update!

Hey guys, long time no see! Sorry I haven't been blogging recently I've just had so much going on. From day trips such as shopping in Oxford Street to getting Gracie I've had no time to just sit down and get a lovely blog post for u to read. I haven't really been going on the computer either, my whole social media has been all over the place! Over the past week I've not even  been able to sleep in my own room as we got my bedroom re done! I had to share mum's study for the last 10 days which I found hard. It was like I had no me time, all my stuff was all over the place and as I'm quite an unorganized person I was really worried if I would lose something! Luckily all is back to normal now and I'm back in my room, but with new furniture and paint on the wall! I absolutely love it, the bedroom is clean, freshening and very peaceful! It's more me. My house is quite old, before we got it it was owned by an old lady and she left everything the same since she first moved into it which was about 40 years ago. All the wallpaper were stained from water and they were peeling off the walls! Done worry our house is a lot better now! The kitchen, bathroom, living room and car park has been done but we haven't re done my room yet well until now! So if you would like to see a room tour on this blog channel then please let me know.

Sorry for rambling on a bit, I just had a lot to let out! So the basic message is I will be trying to put blog posts up every other day!
I hope you all have a lovely rest of the evening and I look forward to get back on track!

Baking with me: Fruity Flag Cake

Hello my dear fellow chums, I've been thinking on what blog post I should do today and as I've not done a 'baking with me' post for quite some time I thought it would be a good one to do.  Today I'm going to show you how to make a gorgeous moist yogurt/ sponge cake with a yummy icing to coat it and them wonderful summer fruits on top. It looks amazing, it tastes amazing and IT IS amazing. A perfect cake if your friend is coming round for tea.
Fruity flag traybake
Ingredients:
100g butter ( softened) and extra to grease
175g self raising flour
50g ground almonds
2 tsp baking powder
4 eggs
225g caster sugar
125ml Greek full fat yogurt
Zest of 2 lemons

Icing:
1/2 a cup of water
350g icing sugar

To decorate:
300g raspberries
175g blueberries

  • Preheat the oven to 180C and butter a 30 x 20 traybake tin.
  • Mix all the sponge ingredients into a large bowl and then spoon out into the tin making sure the surface is level.

  • Bake for 25-30 minutes. The cake should spring back when you touch it and if you put a knife in the middle it should come out clean. Then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

  • To make the icing put all the icing sugar into a bowl and add the water carefully making sure you mix well each time. If you put too much water the icing will be to runny so be careful!
  • Spread the icing over the top of the cake with a knife.
  • To decorate follow the picture carefully to get a flag. Cut into squares to serve.

Grey Matters Nail Review From Rimmel

At the moment I'm loving this colour from Rimmel. I feel like Rimmel is such a great cosmetic brand, they do great nail varnish that has a good coverage, it's easy to apply ( not blotchy) and it lasts for a while. I get most of my nail varnishes from there as it's not too expensive either and the colour range is fantastic. I could go on and on how brilliant Rimmel is but I feel like that would bore you after a while!
For quite a while now I've been looking for the perfect grey colour and I finally found one in a boot sale for 10p. It's completely new no one has touched it and it's the grey I've been looking for. That's the thing with Boot Sales you don't know what you can find... such fun!

This is called ' Grey Matters' and it's number 805 it looks....
here comes my rubbish describing words; pale grey like clouds that hold lots of rain, when it dries it's so smooth and shiny it just appeals to you're eyes straight away.

What's also great about this nail varnish is it only takes 60 seconds to dry. This is great news for me as I'm often in a hurry so I can just quickly flick it on and voila. I also have a reputation of smudging it... God nail varnish can drive me crazy. I think it's dry so I poke it just to make sure, I then realise I'm wrong and the colour goes on my finger. I go rushing around for cotton pads, I then smudge my nails even more trying to get a cotton pad out of the packet!! It can take me quite a while until I have the perfect glossy look with a normal nail varnish!

I feel like sometimes it's nice not to have a bright pop in your face colour on your nails. We all need some safisticated colours for work and professional meetings.

You can pick this up at Boots or a Superdrug ( you can also get this online)

Lifestyle Blog: Lewes

Yesterday, we ( mum, dad and I) went to Lewis, which is near Brighton for the day. We go there about once a year and every time we love it there. We would go to Lewis more often but it's such a long drive it tires us out a lot.
So we left at 9 and we drove down to Lewis. Luckily there was no traffic but it still took a while. Once we were there we obviously went to loads of shops having a good old time. I love shopping with my mum. My mum got some beauty products, some earrings and a book. I got a tee-shirt from new look it's a lovely floral one which was reduced to £7 because it was in the sale. I also got a recipe book from WHSmith. I wasn't planning on getting a recipe book as I've only just got a pasta Sauce one but I saw this and I fell in love with it. It was £25 and it was reduced to £7.99 ( that was what I thought) when I went up to the till the lady said it was £3.99 instead of £7.99 such a bargain!

There's also a gorgeous view in the background

I really wanted these!
I had a yummy macaroni cheese with breadcrumbs and leaks.

This Is the castle of Lewes. You can visit it, we didn't this time but I've been around it before.

We ate in Bills. We always eat there and every time they serve delicious food. It's very popular and gets very busy so the service isn't great.

I had a fantastic day. The weather turned out to be good so that was a plus!
