Life Update!

Hey guys, long time no see! Sorry I haven't been blogging recently I've just had so much going on. From day trips such as shopping in Oxford Street to getting Gracie I've had no time to just sit down and get a lovely blog post for u to read. I haven't really been going on the computer either, my whole social media has been all over the place! Over the past week I've not even  been able to sleep in my own room as we got my bedroom re done! I had to share mum's study for the last 10 days which I found hard. It was like I had no me time, all my stuff was all over the place and as I'm quite an unorganized person I was really worried if I would lose something! Luckily all is back to normal now and I'm back in my room, but with new furniture and paint on the wall! I absolutely love it, the bedroom is clean, freshening and very peaceful! It's more me. My house is quite old, before we got it it was owned by an old lady and she left everything the same since she first moved into it which was about 40 years ago. All the wallpaper were stained from water and they were peeling off the walls! Done worry our house is a lot better now! The kitchen, bathroom, living room and car park has been done but we haven't re done my room yet well until now! So if you would like to see a room tour on this blog channel then please let me know.

Sorry for rambling on a bit, I just had a lot to let out! So the basic message is I will be trying to put blog posts up every other day!
I hope you all have a lovely rest of the evening and I look forward to get back on track!

Baking with me: Fruity Flag Cake

Hello my dear fellow chums, I've been thinking on what blog post I should do today and as I've not done a 'baking with me' post for quite some time I thought it would be a good one to do.  Today I'm going to show you how to make a gorgeous moist yogurt/ sponge cake with a yummy icing to coat it and them wonderful summer fruits on top. It looks amazing, it tastes amazing and IT IS amazing. A perfect cake if your friend is coming round for tea.
Fruity flag traybake
Ingredients:
100g butter ( softened) and extra to grease
175g self raising flour
50g ground almonds
2 tsp baking powder
4 eggs
225g caster sugar
125ml Greek full fat yogurt
Zest of 2 lemons

Icing:
1/2 a cup of water
350g icing sugar

To decorate:
300g raspberries
175g blueberries

  • Preheat the oven to 180C and butter a 30 x 20 traybake tin.
  • Mix all the sponge ingredients into a large bowl and then spoon out into the tin making sure the surface is level.

  • Bake for 25-30 minutes. The cake should spring back when you touch it and if you put a knife in the middle it should come out clean. Then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

  • To make the icing put all the icing sugar into a bowl and add the water carefully making sure you mix well each time. If you put too much water the icing will be to runny so be careful!
  • Spread the icing over the top of the cake with a knife.
  • To decorate follow the picture carefully to get a flag. Cut into squares to serve.

Grey Matters Nail Review From Rimmel

At the moment I'm loving this colour from Rimmel. I feel like Rimmel is such a great cosmetic brand, they do great nail varnish that has a good coverage, it's easy to apply ( not blotchy) and it lasts for a while. I get most of my nail varnishes from there as it's not too expensive either and the colour range is fantastic. I could go on and on how brilliant Rimmel is but I feel like that would bore you after a while!
For quite a while now I've been looking for the perfect grey colour and I finally found one in a boot sale for 10p. It's completely new no one has touched it and it's the grey I've been looking for. That's the thing with Boot Sales you don't know what you can find... such fun!

This is called ' Grey Matters' and it's number 805 it looks....
here comes my rubbish describing words; pale grey like clouds that hold lots of rain, when it dries it's so smooth and shiny it just appeals to you're eyes straight away.

What's also great about this nail varnish is it only takes 60 seconds to dry. This is great news for me as I'm often in a hurry so I can just quickly flick it on and voila. I also have a reputation of smudging it... God nail varnish can drive me crazy. I think it's dry so I poke it just to make sure, I then realise I'm wrong and the colour goes on my finger. I go rushing around for cotton pads, I then smudge my nails even more trying to get a cotton pad out of the packet!! It can take me quite a while until I have the perfect glossy look with a normal nail varnish!

I feel like sometimes it's nice not to have a bright pop in your face colour on your nails. We all need some safisticated colours for work and professional meetings.

You can pick this up at Boots or a Superdrug ( you can also get this online)
