Lifestyle Blog: Lewes

Yesterday, we ( mum, dad and I) went to Lewis, which is near Brighton for the day. We go there about once a year and every time we love it there. We would go to Lewis more often but it's such a long drive it tires us out a lot.
So we left at 9 and we drove down to Lewis. Luckily there was no traffic but it still took a while. Once we were there we obviously went to loads of shops having a good old time. I love shopping with my mum. My mum got some beauty products, some earrings and a book. I got a tee-shirt from new look it's a lovely floral one which was reduced to £7 because it was in the sale. I also got a recipe book from WHSmith. I wasn't planning on getting a recipe book as I've only just got a pasta Sauce one but I saw this and I fell in love with it. It was £25 and it was reduced to £7.99 ( that was what I thought) when I went up to the till the lady said it was £3.99 instead of £7.99 such a bargain!

There's also a gorgeous view in the background

I really wanted these!
I had a yummy macaroni cheese with breadcrumbs and leaks.

This Is the castle of Lewes. You can visit it, we didn't this time but I've been around it before.

We ate in Bills. We always eat there and every time they serve delicious food. It's very popular and gets very busy so the service isn't great.

I had a fantastic day. The weather turned out to be good so that was a plus!

Peppermint Kiss by Kelly Mckain: Book Review

Sunday afternoons always make me sad, I think it's because I know that my weekend has nearly ended and I will be back to school tomorrow. Luckily tomorrow it's still holidays for me but I know for lots of people they will be working, so hopefully by doing this post it will cheer you up a little.
Today i'm planning on doing a book review. I've never done one before so I'm not to sure on how to do it but I will try and see how it goes. I'm going to be talking about a book I have really enjoyed and found very exciting the whole way through. Kelly Mckain came to our school so I got it signed in a lovely glittery pen which is even more exciting for me!

To start off with, when I first saw it I didn't like the cover at all, i loathed it. I thought it was for seven year olds not 13. The title was no better but as the saying goes don't judge a book about a cover which I didn't really do and I decided to go for it.
It is a very girly book, a girl's life is falling apart, her dad's gone and left them all, she's moving, she has to leave her friends behind and so on... but when you were reading it you really felt like you were Abbie ( the main character) and all these problems was happening to you. I can't believe I'm saying this but it was like I had a connection with a book character!
The basic plot of the story is that, Abbie's dad has cheated on her mum, his business has fallen to pieces and so they have no money, literally. They can hardly eat never mind about new clothes. Her dad's gone so Abbie has to stay in this grotty old flat where you will see rats running around the landing. After living a gorgeous house in Ealing it must be a shock... huh?!
This life may seem you're worst nightmare but it's not quite as bad as you think. On her first day she meets three really important people to her Summer, Ben and the charming Marco. On the first day Abbie makes a fool of herself in front of Marco. It's pouring with rain so she can hardly see where she is going and it's only when she's inside Abbie realizes her bra can be seen under her school white shirt....
As the book continues Summer warned Abbie that Marco is not all he seems. She tells her that he messes around with girls and one moment he's holding their hands the next he ignores them and she finds out that what Summer is saying is true at the gig.
While this is all going on at school at home Abbie has a brilliant idea to earn lots of money to help her family. Her plan is to start a beauty spa in an empty shop below the flat with the money her mum got from selling the engagement ring. Liam a friendly guy from another flat helped the dream to be reality. Abbie loves making beauty products so this must be a perfect plan to help her family not fall off a cliff. With the shop beginning to unfold all Abbie needs to do is worry about Marco...

I don't want to spoil anything else but that was a sneak peek of the story.

All you need to do now is make yourself a yummy hot chocolate and go ahead and read it. Trust me once you start you wont stop!

Birthday Gift Ideas

Hello chummies. Yesterday I went to a birthday party, one of the best things to do! We went to a pier and we went on loads of rides. My favorite ride was 'The Bumper Cars' they are really great fun! The only thing is I hurt my wrist after I went on it and I think i twisted it. I'm in a lot of pain, hopefully it will go soon!
The lunch was also very yummy, you could have bagels with a filling of your choice then they were home made sausage rolls, salad ( which not many people touched!) cheese twist, mosserala and tomato bite side version on a stick, Pringles and I think that was about it! Pudding was also delicious we had some summer berries and strawberries and also a party ring! At 5:30 we had the cakes, which was also homemade. It was a chocolate and a raspberries cake, it was AMAZING!
I decided as I've just been to a party I should continue the theme by giving you guys a top 10 gift idea list (for girls). So if you're going to a party soon and you're stuck on what to give the birthday girl, perhaps you don't know her?! I'm hoping this will help.

1. You could get them a cupcake maker if they enjoy them that is! I feel like that would be a great birthday gift for me.

2. This seems loads of fun and maybe boys would like this as a gift as well.... If the person whom you want to give this gift is arty, fun and loves taking pictures then they will love it. It's a perfect way to spice up pictures and makes them really original!

3. This is way cooler then disco light. It will make the room very pretty at night and especially if the person whom'm your planning on giving this to is young they will really enjoy using it!

4. Instead of using your sticky fingers on your Ipad how about using something much cleaner. It will leave no marks now! It even works when typing.

iCrayon Touch Stylus for Mobile Devices - Red: Image 11

5. Something little but definitely effective! So I suggest getting something as well but if you friend is really keen on media and social networks then go ahead.

6. Great for someone who always looses or forgets where they put their keys. It looks like magic but it's so simple. Very handy for on the go.

7. Makes Baths even more fun! It's like having a disco and bath in one! It turns the water into loads of cool colors instead of just one boring one and the good thing is it's not too expensive either!

8. This pack contains 5 mini art nail pens, with a brush for painting and a nib for drawing. Whatever you do nobody will have exactly the same design as you that equals to no awkwardness!

9. If your friend is a huge ice cream lover then you should get them this. It will make your lips soft and smell gorgeous. You can never have too many lip balms! The flavours are, bubblegum, Strawberry, mint-chocolate chip and chocolate brownie. Yum.

10. Seems very yummy, there are delicate handmade tea cups and lovely cupcakes with a scrumptious blend of  white and dark Belgian chocolate.

Lifestyle Blog: Beach Day

Yesterday Dad,Gracie ( my dog) and I went to a trip to the sea! We went to spend a day at the Hayling Island which is near Portsmouth. It's a gorgeous place with a stunning beach and when I say that it is amazing and I'm someone who is quite hard to please when it comes to beaches! There is also an Amusements area where you can go down roller coasters or slides. There's loads of places to go to when your hungry. Cafes, Fish and chip Bars, Burger Bars....
The view of the beach. It wasn't a sandy beach but there were some beautiful stones there and dad and I found a lot with holes in them.
The Sea!
Whilst I was at the Hayling's Island I took my camera with me and I took a few snapshots for you guys.
This was taken right by the car as soon as  we got out from our long drive. As you can see the weather was lovely already.

The only picture that Gracie was actually looking at the camera!

We headed back on a lovely little train more for young children to be honest by the coast. The view was lovely.
Had a scrummy lunch at a Cafe called Mad Hatters. It was a lovely little tea room and there were plenty of cakes available. We were sitting outside though we had to move into the shade at one point because it got very hot! We shared natchos with dips for the starter and as for main course I had a mozzerala and tomato Quiche which was very yummy!
The Nachos

I had an AMAZING day and we think that was the first time Gracie saw the sea!

Get Ready with Me Outfit, Hair & Make up look

Aloha Mis Amigos! Hope all is well since I last blogged.
Yesterday I had an absolutely fantastic time with the Girlies. Before my day out though I took some pictures of my hair, my outfit and even my make up look so I could show you all how I was going out on that fine day! So without further ado let's get into it.
The first think i put on was my Rimmel foundation that is meant to last for 25 hours. I blend this well with a brush. http://uk.rimmellondon.com/products/face/lasting-finish-25-hour-foundation
I then put on the lasting perfection concealer under my eyes and on a few blemishes as I've not been sleeping too well at the moment because of this heat wave. http://www.boots.com/en/Collection-2000-Lasting-Perfection-Concealer_984434/
I then slap on some bronzer on my cheeks, so I don't look too pale( I cannot find it online anymore)
Once the base is on, I focus on my eyes. I use a number of different colors from the accessorize palette. I use this creamy colour as a base. I then put on some black and lastly a goldie brown on the crease. This makes my eyes glitter a little. ( I cannot find this online either)
Then I put on some eyeliner on the water line and just above my eye. I use the Maybelline Expression eyeliner. http://www.superdrug.com/maybelline/maybelline-expression-kajal-eye-liner-black/invt/314750
The last thing I do to my eyes is I put on Maybelline the Rocket Volume Express Mascara http://www.superdrug.com/maybelline/maybelline-colossal-volume-express-rocket-waterproof/invt/567350
Once my eyes are all done, I put some lipstick on. My favorite part. I use a Rimmel lipstick in the shade Rose Sorbet 110. http://www.superdrug.com/rimmel/rimmel-moisture-renew-lipstick-rose-sorbet/invt/513849

And that was my look for the day!

As for my hair I simpley did a half up half down do. This gets your hair out of your face but at the same time you still have hair coming both sides of your head. I particularly like this hair look in the Summer as it's hot and it just makes you feel a little cooler. To make the hair look even nicer I platted it on both sides though you can easily just tie it back. I just feel like it looks nicer.

As for my outfit I was wearing a bright pink top and then some stripey pink and white shorts from Primark. It was super casual but I wanted to feel casual.

Then for shoes I was wearing my bow sandals from Jones which i got last year.

I then was wearing a bow necklace which was a very light Pink. This is my current favorite necklace, I love it. Alice ( my best friend) has a white version of it. We got it together.

So there you have it! My outfit, make up look and hairstyle for the day out with my buddies. If you would like to see a Lifestyle Blog Post on this please leave a comment below.

Meringue Recipe

Sunday is The day to bake. Every Sunday I enjoy baking something new and very tasty for the family. It doesn't always go completely right, for example a few weeks ago I made these chocolate marshmallow cupcakes and I forgot to put the sugar in them! They were disgusting, but the point is everybody makes mistakes but it doesn't mean if you make one you just give up. If you do that then trust me you will never do anything with your life because EVERYBODY makes mistakes.
Today i'm planning on making Meringues as my dad loves them and he's asked me to make them a number of times. I have no idea how they are going to turn out but I'm hoping they will be good. If you would like to know how to make Meringues please continue reading.... if you don't then press the cross button on the to right corner!

Ingredients:

3 egg whites
150g sugar ( 50g of sugar per egg)
Optional: whipped cream to sandwich the Meringues together

  • Preheat the oven to 140C
  • Find yourself a medium bowl, which is very clean, if there is any grease in it, it will stop the egg whites to stiffen. I recommend boiling water with a kettle and then washing the bowl out first .This cleans out any left over dirt.
  • Then crack the 3 eggs making sure you only get the egg whites and throw them into the bowl. As for the egg yolks there is no reason to waste a perfectly acceptable egg. You could make an omelette with it or something.
  • You will then whisk the eggs. You can use a whisker or do it by hand. If you use a whisker make sure you start off on medium and as the time goes on you can turn it up to high.
  • You will know when the eggs are ready because you will be able to form little peaks in the mixture. Also if you turn the bowl upside down the mixture won't fall out.

  • Then you will be able to add the sugar slowly. Make sure you mix well between each interval.
  • Using a table spoon scoop the egg mixture onto a baking sheet. If you don't have a baking sheet the Meringues will stick so you must invest in one. A trick is to get a tiny bit of the mixture and dab it on the four corners of the baking sheet. It will keep the baking sheet in place.
  • Bake for around an hour until the meringues are crispy and a pale golden brown. Trust me you will know when they are ready! Then leave them to cool in the oven for a while.
  • When the Meringues have cooled down put around 2 tbsp of the whipped cream over 1/2 of a  meringue and then sandwich together ( the best bit!)

There you have it! It's quick and easy but make sure you follow the rules. I hope you enjoy making them as their loads of fun.

If you would like me to do a baking blog post every Sunday please say so in the comments.
See you very soon xx

Herbal Essence Review

My hair has never pleased me. I always find them so knotty and practically impossible to brush, they also are way too thick. I found that they went greasy really quickly especially near my head. Well this is everything I thought before I found Herbal Essence.

What is great about Herbal Essence is that they haven't only made the shampoo they've also got a hair cream, conditioner,sprays.... and you can pick whatever one suits you best. For example if you have colour treated hair you go for the pink one. The fragrance is berries. You will definitely find the perfect one for you. At the moment I'm rather liking the purple which gives your hair a tousled look.

I recommend using it about every 3 days. As soon as you put the shampoo in your hair you can feel it working, giver your hair a magical look and feel as you rub it in. It makes your hair lovely and soft to touch and the color of your hair is lovely to look at. No more split ends either. The smell is also amazing, it smells like blossoms and this fragrance will last in your hair for a while. It makes you look like you've just been to a salon. Your hair is bouncy, healthy and many other people notice this. It makes your hair so much nicer in no time.
I think it's a good value for money, for some people it may be a bit pricey but it does a lot to your hair!

You can get it practically anywhere, from Waitrose to your local pharmacy. I get mine from boots most of the time as often they do offers there but that may just be my experience!

What is your current shampoo?

Gracie goes to the hairdressers!

Good afternoon everybody! Today's blog is going to be about Gracie again as something very exciting happened to her yesterday. She went to be groomed. We don't know  if she's ever gone to a parlour before, she may have just been cut by her owners, nobody knows.

This is the place where she got her hair groomed. It's rather an old little beauty salon but it is very sweet and the people their are very nice. As you can probably read the sign it specializes in poodles. Of course Gracie isn't a poodle but she is half of one.

Gracie was in there for about 2 and 1/2 hours rather a long time if you ask me. Her appointment was booked at 2 and her pick up time was at 4:30. We found it very upsetting to leave her and we were worried if she would get all panicky and think we would never return. When we came back the lady said she was really well behaved and had no problems whatsoever, which was a relief.

As you can see their is quite a difference. She had so much hair in the first picture that it was hard not to mistake her to a polar bear! As for the second, she is a completely different dog. Her hair is stunningly beautiful and she is so soft. Her legs are probably the softest part of her body.

Gracie got washed, she then got her hair cut at a medium length, they then dried it, after that they brushed her a lot and they clipped her nails. They also pluck the inside of their ears.

I hope you enjoyed this blog post, it was a little bit random but fancied doing it!
Do you have any pets? If so what?
